AVIF Image Format AVIF Converter
AVIF files are a relatively new format used for digital images, first introduced in 2019. The name is short for ‘AV1 Image File Format’. It’s an open file-type that’s not owned by any one tech company. AVIF files are designed to improve on formats like JPG, PNG and GIF, in part because they can offer better image quality but with much smaller file sizes. Because it’s such a new format, you may not be able to open AVIF files in all image editors and viewers. However, support is increasing, and AVIF files can now be opened by some web browsers, including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Safari. Apple, Android, and Linux devices with the most recent operating systems can also open AVIF files in their Photos apps. If you want to edit your AVIF files, the latest versions of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop with the AVIF plug-in, Microsoft Paint, and GIMP are applications you could use.
PCX Image Format PCX Converter
The PCX file format was introduced by ZSoft in the 1980s for Paintbrush Bitmap Image files. The Paintbrush software was developed for Windows PCs as a drawing and graphics editing program. Like other bitmap images, PCX files are raster images comprising pixels in a grid. The PCX format supported 24-bit colour, 8-bit greyscale and 1-bit black and white images. PCX files were compressed to make the file size smaller.
The format is not very commonly used anymore, especially as ZSoft no longer exists. However, the PCX format is still used by some scanners and fax machines. If you have a PCX image, you should still be able to open it in most programs that support raster files. These include Microsoft Photos, Apple Photos, Apple Preview, Google Photos, and image editors like Adobe PhotoShop, CorelDRAW or Corel PaintShop Pro.
How to convert a AVIF to a PCX file?
- 1. Choose the AVIF file that you want to convert.
- 2. Select PCX as the the format you want to convert your AVIF file to.
