Why increase your MOV volume?
MOV is Apple's native video format, developed for use with QuickTime. If you've ever recorded video on a Mac, iPhone, or iPad, there's a strong chance the file was saved as a MOV. These recordings generally produce excellent picture quality, but the audio side can be less reliable. A video shot on an iPhone in a busy café, a screen recording with commentary captured through a MacBook's built-in microphone, or a clip filmed outdoors where wind competes with the speaker can all leave you with a MOV file where the sound is too low to be useful.
Zamzar's volume increase tool lets you boost the audio in your MOV files without downloading or learning video editing software. You upload the file, choose your preferred increase (125%, 150%, 200%, or 300%), and download the louder version. Freelance videographers often find this useful when footage shot on location comes back quieter than expected, particularly for interview segments. It's also handy if you've received a MOV file from a colleague or client and need to present it in a meeting where laptop speakers won't do the original audio justice. Students reviewing recorded lectures saved as MOV files can also benefit, especially when the recording was made from the back of a lecture hall with limited microphone reach.
