AI Image Format AI Converter
AI is the main file format for Adobe Illustrator, a premium graphic design software program. AI files are vector image files, with paths connected by different points making up a whole design, rather than using a grid of pixels. This retains the details in the image when it’s zoomed in or out. Adobe Illustrator is very popular among both professional and amateur artists and graphic designers.
Adobe Illustrator is available as a monthly or annual subscription, either on its own or as part of the Creative Cloud suite with other programs like Photoshop and the Premiere Pro video editor. AI files can’t be opened by all image viewers or editors, especially programs that are just designed for viewing 2D raster images like JPGs or PNGs. However, you can open AI files with CorelDRAW, Inkscape or Adobe Photoshop. You can also use Illustrator or these other programs to export an AI file as a different file format for sharing or printing.
SVG Image Format SVG Converter
SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) is a file format developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) in 1999, in conjunction with Adobe Systems. This file format is used to create vector-based graphics that can be scaled to any size without losing quality. SVG files use an XML text-based format that details how the image should appear on screen. This instruction allows the image to be scaled up or down without impacting the quality of the graphic, and makes SVG great for web graphics, logos, icons, diagrams and other illustrations.
Because the SVG file format consistently retains image quality, it’s used widely online and for viewing images across various monitors, browsers, and electronic devices. However, older browsers can have problems supporting this file type. To open an SVG file, you can use applications that support vector graphics such as Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW Graphics Suite, Inkscape, and GIMP.
How to convert a AI to a SVG file?
- 1. Choose the AI file that you want to convert.
- 2. Select SVG as the the format you want to convert your AI file to.
