XLSX Document Format XLSX Converter
XLSX is a file type created using Microsoft Excel - part of the Microsoft Office Suite software. This file format is a zipped Open XML-based file type, meaning it compresses or reduces the file size so that it can access stored data faster and be easily shared with other programs. XLSX was developed by Microsoft as part of their Office 2007 development and is now the default file format for Excel.
XLSX files are very similar in their functionality to their predecessor, XLS; they can be used to create spreadsheets, charts and graphs, process mathematical formulae, and to share or analyse data. The main difference between XLSX and XLS is in how the data is stored. Whereas XLS files hold data in a single file, XLSX saves data in the Open XML format, with separate files zipped up together to reduce space. This also means that XLSX files can present larger data sets and have a greater range of cells. As well as with Microsoft Excel, XLSX files can be opened using various other programs, including Google Sheets, LibreOffice, and Apple Numbers.
CSV Document Format CSV Converter
CSV is a type of file for saving spreadsheet data which is recognised by almost all spreadsheet programs. CSV stands for ‘comma separated values’, and if you open a CSV file outside a spreadsheet program, you will see plain text with the data separated, usually by commas, semi-colons, or quotation marks. If you open that same CSV file in a spreadsheet program like Microsoft Excel, Apple Numbers, Google Sheets or LibreOffice Calc, each separated piece of data should then be transferred into an individual cell.
Because CSV files are recognised by almost all spreadsheet programs, they are used as a simple way to export data or transfer it between different programs. However, CSV is a plain text format, so CSV files cannot include advanced spreadsheet functions like charts, formulas, filters, or formatting. There is also not currently a universal open standard for all CSV files.
How to convert a XLSX to a CSV file?
