MIDI Audio Format MIDI Converter
MIDI is a file format for creating, sharing and playing digital music. The name MIDI stands for Musical Instrument Digital Interface, and the standard was launched in 1983. MIDI files don’t contain an actual audio recording, but instead contain data about how the sound should be produced by a compatible playback device or software program, including the notation, pitch, speed, volume and tempo of each instrument. The format’s smaller file sizes make it ideal for sharing music online.
MIDI is predominantly designed for musicians and producers to create or edit music or audio tracks, and so MIDI files can't be played by all media players. However, you should be able to play MIDI tracks with most music recording and editing applications, such as GarageBand and Audio Evolution Mobile, as well as with VLC Media Player. You can also use these applications to export MIDI files into other formats like MP3 or WAV.

M4A files are an extension of the MP4 container format (MPEG-4 or Moving Picture Experts Group-4). Originally developed by Apple as a competing format to MP3, M4As are specifically used to store audio-only material such as podcasts, music, audiobooks and other auditory entertainment. M4A files are typically encoded with ALAC (Apple Lossless Audio Codec) or AAC (Advanced Audio Coding), compressing the files to produce smaller file sizes that retain high-quality sound. Due to their reduced file sizes, M4A files are a go-to format for sharing and downloading audio content, especially music downloaded from the Apple iTunes Store.
