Why split AVI?
It's pretty rare to find an Audio Video Interleave (AVI) file these days — and yet, here you are, with an AVI in your download folder. You don't need us to tell you this is one of the oldest audiovisual formats on the market. AVI files are also considerably larger than other video format files. And by 'larger,' we mean 2-3GB per minute of footage! Since you (probably) won't be able to transfer, store, or upload these large files easily, you're going to need to split your AVI into multiple files, so you can then play, transfer, or upload just the footage you need.
