3DS 3D Format 3DS Converter
3D Studio (3DS) is a legacy file format used by Autodesk’s 3ds Max 3D modelling software. It was used in the 1990s before being replaced by Autodesk’s MAX format in 1996. Although MAX is the newer format, you can still open and edit 3DS files through Autodesk 3ds Max and Blender. With them, you can store complete 3D scenes and models, and export the files to transfer the contents between different software with little difficulty.
Autodesk 3ds Max is one of the industry standards for 3D models and scenes, so the 3DS file format has a wide range of use cases, from drawing up architectural schematics to building levels for a video game. And while 3DS files are now superseded by the MAX files, you’ll still come across them frequently if you’re working with a large archive of 3D files.

3MF 3D Format 3MF Converter
The 3D Manufacturing Format (3MF) is an XML-based file that stores information useful for 3D printing. It was developed and established by the 3MF Consortium with the goal of efficiently storing 3D printing data to be used across many different pieces of software. As 3D printing has become more effective and prevalent, a more standardised file type was necessary. Although the STL file format is more widely used among legacy and hobbyist users, 3MF is quickly becoming the industry choice for modern use cases.
If you just want to view the file, Windows has a built-in app called Windows 3D Builder that will do the trick. If you want to edit a file before you print it, 3MF can be used with software such as Microsoft 3D Builder, Autodesk Fusion 360, and SOLIDWORKS.
