Description | Founded in 2004, Vimeo is a popular website for sharing and viewing video content. Vimeo reportedly receives over 60 million visits per day. The site differentiates itself in several ways from YouTube. Firstly, it allows users to set privacy levels on a video, allowing users to define a password or to share with a select group of users. Users can also choose whether or not to allow others to embed video onto another website. Vimeo also offers upgraded accounts, for super users and business use. The site has a large artistic following, with a number of indie filmakers choosing Vimeo over other rivals. Vimeo was the first of the major video sharing sites to support user uploaded content in high definition. |
