CBC eBook Format CBC Converter
A CBC file is also known as a Comic Book Collection file, and the format is used for storing digital comic books and graphic novels. It was developed by Calibre, which creates free ebook software. Other ebook formats are optimised for reading text left to right, top to bottom. However, the panel structure and high-quality images in graphic novels and comics, and the way comics are published, require a slightly different format. This is especially true for manga books, which are read in a different order in Japanese.
CBC is a container file format. This can include CBZ and CBR files, which hold comics or comic panels in a single archive, and metadata about the order they need to appear in, the index, and author/artist information. CBC files also normally contain a text file which works as an interactive contents page. You can only open CBC files with Calibre.

LIT eBook Format LIT Converter
Microsoft developed the LIT format for its now discontinued Microsoft Reader program. Microsoft Reader typically came as a free application for Windows computers and Pocket PC PDAs. Both Microsoft Reader and the LIT format were released in 2000, but Microsoft retired the program in 2011. LIT files are similar in structure to CHM files but can include digital rights management (DRM) protection to prevent copyright theft.
Microsoft Reader and LIT files used ClearType, which improved readability on devices. The main disadvantage with the LIT format was that it was not compatible with many devices or ereading apps. Ereading devices like the Kindle and smartphone/tablet apps are also much more convenient for reading books on the go. If you have an old LIT file, you should still be able to open it using Calibre’s ebook software. Otherwise, you may want to convert the file into another ebook format.
