Description Created by Amazon, the Kindle Fire is a tablet computer which was first released in November 2011. Although smaller in terms of size, it is seen as a credible competitor to the Apple iPad, the Kindle Fire features a full colour display unlike the original Kindle eBook reader. The device has direct links to the Amazon App Store providing users with a means to buy digital content including eBooks, music and video. The Kindle Fire runs on a modified version of the Android operating system and industry experts have estimated that Amazon are not profiting from the sale of the device itself, and instead are hoping to generate revenue through the content bought from Amazon using the Kindle Fire. The latest device in the Kindle Fire range is the Kindle Fire HD which was released in Q3 2012.

Technical Details AVI is a derivative of the Resource Interchange File Format (RIFF), which divides a file's data into blocks, or chunks. Each chunk is identified by a FourCC tag. An AVI file takes the form of a single chunk in a RIFF formatted file, which is then subdivided into two mandatory chunks and one optional chunk. The first sub-chunk is identified by the hdrl tag. This sub-chunk is the file header and contains metadata about the video, such as its width, height and frame rate. The second sub-chunk is identified by the movi tag. This chunk contains the actual audio/visual data that make up the AVI movie. The third optional sub-chunk is identified by the idx1 tag which indexes the offsets of the data chunks within the file.
