PEF Image Format PEF Converter
The PEF format is used for raw images taken with some Pentax digital cameras. The full name of the format is Pentax Electronic File. Raw images are the original high-definition picture captured on a digital camera’s CCD sensor. The files also include information about the image, like temperature, colour and saturation, which can be used for editing.
Photo editors, graphic designers and printers usually prefer to work with the original raw images. However, PEF and other raw images can be large files, so people often convert them into another format like JPG if they’re sharing them with others who don’t need the original HD photographs. JPG is also a better format for posting images on social media. PEF files can be opened in many programs, including Microsoft Photos, Apple Photos, Apple Preview, File Viewer for Android, Adobe Photoshop, Corel PaintShop Pro and Canvas.

TGA Image Format TGA Converter
A TGA file is a type of raster image developed by Truevision. Sometimes called TARGA files, the name stands for Truevision Advanced Raster Graphics Adapter. Raster images comprise pixels in a grid format, and other raster image types include JPG, PNG and BMP.
TGA files can now support 8, 16, 24 and 32 bits per pixel, with a maximum of 24 bits for RGB, and they also support a type of lossless compression called RLE compression. The TGA format is primarily used for graphics like logos, icons, cartoons or video games, rather than for photos. TGA images are intended for viewing on a screen, and they are common in the animation and video gaming sectors. You can open TGA files using Apple Photos, Windows and Android File Viewer, Adobe Photoshop, Corel PaintShop Pro and Canvas.
