AZW3 eBook Format AZW3 Converter
AZW3 is an ebook file format developed by Amazon and is also known as an Amazon KF8 eBook file. AZW3 replaced AZW as the main ebook format for Amazon Kindle ereaders and the Kindle app. AZW3 files have some extra features that weren’t in the original AZW files, including more support for illustrations and different fonts.
If you buy a Kindle ebook from Amazon, it will download to your device as an AZW3 file by default. AZW3 files have built-in digital rights management (DRM) protection to prevent copyright theft and sharing. Because they were developed specifically for Amazon Kindles, AZW3 files will not usually open on other ereaders or mobile devices without additional software. However, you can download the Amazon Kindle App for free, or another app, like Calibre, that can read AZW3 files.
